Our team has the commercial, accounting and legal experience to identify and develop business opportunities from initial conception to the preparation of websites, business plans and investment memoranda for potential investors. We are also able to source other functions as needed, such as custodians, nominees, trustees, tax, accounting and company secretarial services from an extensive network of experienced firms.

Paul Thompson is the founding partner of Prosper Capital LLP and has been involved in raising capital to support young businesses for the last 25 years. He was a founder of Dover Street Capital Limited in 2001 that raised over £60 million for film and commercial property funds.  He founded Capital Exchange Limited, an FCA regulated advisory service that matched angel and institutional investors with small investors before selling it in 2000. He was also a partner of Cygnus Venture Partners, a £50 million venture capital fund specialising in start-up and early stage funding and helped the early development of key companies including Biocompatibles plc, Deltex Medical plc and Axis-Shield plc. He has a broad experience of British industry having served on the boards of companies in diverse sectors such as oil services, medical instrumentation, specialised foods, leisure and financial services.

Angus Thompson is a financial services lawyer who worked at law firms Herbert Smith, Bird & Bird and Howard Kennedy before moving in-house to Capita plc as Head of Legal for Capita’s financial services division (now Link Asset Services).  He has experience of FCA regulated work both listed and unlisted as well as private equity and a diploma in EIS.

Katherine Thompson originally qualified as a lawyer in the corporate department of Forsters LLP with particular experience of corporate structures for commercial property.  Katherine is the Compliance Officer for Prosper Capital and an associate member of the CISI. Katherine helps clients keep up-to-date with changes to financial regulation.
